The Easy Way To Chalk You're Hair AKA Unicorn Hair!

Hi pretty's! Today i thought i would do a how-to on hair chalking.I have recently become quite obsessed with this technique its super easy, washes out in 1-2 washes and looks freaking Ah-ma-zing!

What you will need:

  • Pastels, whatever colours and as many colours as you like
  • A squirty  bottle of water
  • A glass of water
  • Hairdryer
  • Hair Straightener
  • 2 sectioning clips
  • shine spray (optional)

-First start by brushing out you're hair so there are no knots, then spritz the water spray where ever you intend to chalk the hair.Dont saturate the hair, just dampen it.

-Next section you're hair off starting at the bottom,i would say about 1-2 inches thick.

-Then you want to select the colours you want to use,i chose a light blue,a cobalt blue and a purple.when you have picked you're colours dip the end of the pastel into the glass of water to wet the tip then you want to run the pastel along the hair shaft in a downwards motion (backwards and forwards will matt the hair).I chose to only chalk the ends of the hair.
Note: if you want a paler/pastely colour dont dip the pastel into the glass of water i just did this to intensify the colour.

-When you have finished chalking that section keep going throughout the hair until you are finished, then lightly  dry the hair with a blow dryer to dry off any dampness left in the hair.

-Next i loosely curled the ends of the hair with my hair straightener, this helps to set the colours in place and lastly i spritzed the hair with shine spray (i did this because the pastels can look a little dry)

And this is the finished result! The top picture is before i curled my beautiful model Brooke's hair and the bottom is after.

What do you think? Will you be trying this? Thanks so much for stopping by,dont forget to leave you're comments below!
